We have just recently completed the renovation of our home.
I wanted to share a few pictures. Garry completely gutted the house and started over.
He did a GREAT JOB!(click on photos to enlarge)
We had the Stucco put on the Exterior ~
This is the view coming in the front door ~
It is completely open from the front of the house to the back. The Den, Kitchen and Dining Room are all open to each other which is great when everyone is home.
All of the ceilings have been raised with all new windows and light fixtures.
View looking from the dining room into the kitchen ~
All new appliances were added as well as new wiring, plumbing and insulation.
New cabinets were added and painted with Chalk Paint® Decorative Paint by Annie Sloan.
The large island is great for meal preparation and serving ~

Vintage merchandise for rustic decorating
what could be better?
PEPPER SOUP ~
Brown and Drain 1 1/2 lb ground beef
1 can Rotel
1 can Ranch Style Beans
1 can Diced Tomatos
1 can Corn
2 cans Minestrone Soup
2 cans water
Salt and Pepper to taste
Bring to a boil and then simmer until you are ready to eat.
Of course, you have to make a batch of Cornbread to go along with your Soup.
My favorite is Jiffy Corn Bread Mix but I didn't have any in the pantry. I settled for the next best thing - made from scratch
cooked in a Cast Iron Skillet, . . . DELICIOUS!!!
Tomorrow all of this will be even better!

Pepper Soup served with Cornbread
since I have posted anything on my Blog and I am so excited to get started again!
There are a lot of things going on at the Shoppe and so much to write about.
Let's talk Chalk Paint®!
I painted Old White Chalk Paint® right on the stained Armoire, no stripping or sanding!
For the second coat I used Old Ochre.
Then a quick coat of Annie Sloan Clear Wax.
That's it! So Quick and Easy!
This Armoire is available to purchase ~ $495.

Moda Designers show their new Fabric Collections
This Quilt was pieced by Sally Flowers of Canadian TX.
What do you think of it?
Sally dropped by the Shop one day and said she would Piece a Quilt Top for me.
I had recently received several bolts of Loralie Designs fabrics and had been wanting to piece a Quilt Top out of the "Bee Happy" Collection but just had not had time.
Sally did it for me!
I LOVE IT! It turned out so CUTE!
I wanted to use the Panel fabric in the Collection
so we decided on the Quilt pattern called
by Tricia Cribbs in her "Turning Twenty® Simply Sashed" pattern book.
It was Perfect!
The "Bee Happy" fabric collection plus several other prints from other Loralie Collections are available online at
Get yours today while we have a wide variety of prints to choose from.
Don't forget we offer FREE SHIPPING on orders over $50!
As always, you can purchase your fabric and pattern at the Shoppe

I have had this Armoire for some time now and just haven't been able to decide what I needed to do with it.
My first thought was to paint it using Old White Chalk Paint® as a wash.
I got the paint on and a Clear Coat of Wax,
BUT, . . .
it just didn't do anything for me.
So, I decided to add some Coco to the door and give it a little more warmth with some Dark Wax.
I'm still not for sure this is the look I am going for!
What do you think?
I'm going to look at it for a couple of days, put a few things in it and just see if I get more attached to it.
it will get another fresh coat of Chalk Paint® and we'll try again!
HAVE A GREAT DAY!
