Three of the Bolts are not a part of the "Peace On Earth" Collection, but are still from Collections by 3 Sisters and coordinate Beautifully!

I will be making the "SUPER WOMEN" Quilt out of the new "Turning Twenty Simply Sashed" Book using this Fabric. 

I now have this Fabric available to purchase By the Yard, Fat Quarters, and Kits.

~ HOUSTON QUILT MARKET - Continued ~

Today, I am going to make what could be a really long Story, SHORT!  We had so many Crazy things happen, . . . and I could go on and on . . . BUT, . . . I do not want to Bore you!

SO, . . . I will move on to the Quilt Market!

When we walked through the doors of the Convention Center, I was amazed at the number of Booths that were set up.

We decided to start at the North end and work our way down each aisle. 

I did not take any pictures, just to be on the safe side.  If you took pictures, you needed to have the Booth's permission, and I didn't want to take any chances of getting in trouble, so I kept my Camera put up!

We did not even make it through half of the booths on Saturday!

BUT, . . . we did look up Tricia's Booth!

She had a Beautiful Setup with all of her new Patterns and Beautiful Quilts!

We enjoyed getting to meet Tricia and her husband, Gary, so much!  They are the Sweetest Couple and so Personable!

~  We went back to Market on Sunday, but only stayed until a little after Noon, then we headed back to Dallas.  I wanted to make one more stop at United Notions in Dallas on Monday, before we headed home.

WELL, . . . this time I went in with the intention to buy Fabric, and Boy did I have FUN!

I have got to show you what we Stuffed in the Car and brought back!

This is part of the 3 Sisters Collection of "Peace On Earth".  I have been looking at it for awhile.

Here is another Collection by Holly Taylor ~

It is called "Pine Creek Crossing".

It is a Brushed Cotton.  It will make Beautiful Warm and Soft Quilts for the Winter.  It feels like Flannel, but is not.  I think it might be easier to work with. 

This will make the Perfect Quilt if you are needing a Masculine Gift.   It would also look Beautiful in a Log Home.  Or, how about a Quilt for anyone just to Snuggle up in to watch TV or read a Book.

I will get it unwrapped and better pictures taken for tomorrow as well.

We headed back home just a little after Noon.

We had a GREAT Time, Saw so many Neat Things,  and Learned a LOT!

" ON MY GOODNESS ! ! ! "

WOW !   WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!

I don't even know where to start .

I guess I will start by letting you know, "I AM EXHAUSTED!", but it is a Good Kind of Exhaustion.

WE HAD SO MUCH FUN ! ! !

I am the type of person that very seldom has trouble sleeping, BUT, I got very little sleep for two nights!  I was way to excited and had so much on my mind. 

As a matter of fact, I had to get up in the middle of the night, one night, and take some Tylenol for a headache!  Sounds kind of Crazy to get a headache in your sleep, BUT, it happened

Then, I had a thousand things running through my head, so I couldn't go back to sleep!

ANYWAY, it was all worth it!

I didn't take near the pictures that I had intended.  I kept forgetting until it was to late.

It may take a day or two for me to tell you everything,

SO, . . .

I will start with the trip down to Dallas.  That was our first stop.  It is about a six hour trip from Canadian.

We left early Friday morning.

DO ANY OF YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT A GPS?

Well, I have heard of them but have never seen or used one.  We got to take one on our trip!  The first day I thought, "These things are wonderful!  How did we ever get along without them!"  You don't even need a map!

It got us straight to Dallas and told us every turn to make to get us to the front door of United Notions.  It would have taken us hours to find the place on our own!  (Sorry Garry!  We have a tendency to get lost . . . need I say more?)

Garry was a real Trooper!   He had me there by about 12 Noon, and let me stay until they closed at 3:00.

I HAD A BALL ! ! !

WELL, we decided to go ahead and get on down the road so that we wouldn't have as long of a trip the next morning,  . . .  I wanted to be at the Convention Center when they opened the doors!

We made it as far as Buffalo, and stopped for the night.  We had not had anything to eat except for a couple of Sausage Biscuits for Garry, and a Breakfast Burrito for me, since early that morning while traveling on down the road. 

So,  . . .  we stopped and had a fantastic meal at Chili's ~

Checked into a Motel, and Spent the night ~

We got up early and took off the next Morning.

Everything was going GREAT once again until we heard a "DING"!

We had so many electronic devices in our car, Garry's cell phone, my cell phone, our new GPS device, and who knows what else,  . . .  We both sat there for a second wondering where the "DING" had come from,  . . .

. . . finally, I asked Garry if we had GAS,  sure enough, that was what the "DING" was!  , . . . a WARNING telling us OUR GAS TANK WAS EMPTY ! ! !

Here we are running down the Interstate with no worries, and we are Out Of Gas!

Of course, I panic ! ! ! . . . thinking there is probably not another gas station for miles,

Well, . . . we go to the "GPS!" , ask her about the closest Gas Station, and you won't believe it, there are gas stations within 4 miles of where we are!

INSTANT RELIEF !

WE WENT 441 MILES AND NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT FILLING UP!  (I don't know what happened? ? ? . . . Garry is always "Johnny on the Spot", when it comes to the Car, but we were just having to much FUN, and forgot about needing Gas!

WOW ! ! !

Well, we made it to Houston and our GPS got us right to our Motel and the Convention Center with no problem.

Well, . . .   I had better STOP here.  I could go on and on, but I know you have other things you need to do!  I will tell you more tomorrow . . .

~ "TURNING TWENTY SIMPLY SASHED" ~ Pink Saturday

WELL GIRLS, . . . I HAVE KEPT IT IN FOR AS LONG AS I CAN STAND IT ! ! !

I have been doing some "TOP SECRET" work.   I have had to keep my Lips Sealed and Valuable Information under LOCK AND KEY !

BUT, today on my "PINK POST", I am going to TELL ALL . . .

This is one the the Quilts I am going to tell you about ~

OK, . . . remember when you sent me "Fat Quarters", and I made the "Turning Twenty" Give Away Quilt, . . . WELL, . . . that led to a really exciting opportunity for me!

I had called Tricia Cribbs, the pattern Designer, and asked for permission to use her pattern and show a few of the steps I went through to make the QUILT.

Tricia Graciously agreed to the Project.

After I had completed the Quilt and had the "Turning Twenty" Quilt Show, Tricia contacted me.  She was in the process of Designing her new Turning Twenty Patterns and Publishing her new Book, "Turning Twenty Simply Sashed"!

Tricia asked if I would be interested in Testing a couple of her new patterns before she published them.

I was so Excited!   I could hardly wait to get started!

On the first Quilt, Tricia emailed me the pattern and instructions, and wanted me to select the fabric and fat quarters that would be used in the Quilt.

Oh My Goodness!  . . .  I had so much fun!  I spent all day in Amarillo looking for just the right fabric.

Here is what I came up with ~

and, . . . here is the Quilt after I got it Quilted but without the Binding ~

 

Don't you just love the Pattern and it is so Fun and Easy to make!

On the second Quilt, Tricia supplied me with the fabric.  She selected the new "Gypsy Rose" fabric by Moda, . . .

We did have a few construction issues with this pattern, so with the new revised pattern, I pieced this smaller 12 Block Quilt to retest the pattern.  This is the "PINK" Quilt that you saw at the beginning of my Post.

I used four different fabrics instead of the twelve fat quarters.

It looks like a difficult pattern, but it is not!  It was so easy to make!

 

~  WELL, . . . TODAY IS THE BIG DAY ! ! !  ~

Tricia's new Book, "Turning Twenty Simply Sashed" was released last night at Quilt Market, AND I CAN NOW LET THE CAT OUT OF THE BAG!

and, . . . GUESS WHAT ? ! ? ! ? . . .

The THREE Quilts that I pieced and Quilted for her are featured in her Book!

I AM SO EXCITED I COULD POP ! ! ! 

I have never had anything Published in a Book and I have never had this type of Opportunity offered to me before!

WELL, . . .  THE DOORS ARE ABOUT TO OPEN, at Market, and I am about to meet Tricia in person for the first time. 

I am going to pick up my new "Turning Twenty Simply Sashed" Pattern Book.  Tricia will be signing the Books I buy today, so if you are interested in Purchasing one of her Autographed Books, please email me at donnasintheattic@sbcglobal.net or leave a comment to let me know.  I will make sure and purchase one for you.  There are four different patterns in this Book.  The cost is $14.95.

THE TIME HAS FINALLY ARRIVED!

It seems like I have been waiting forever for October 24th to get here.  For years I have wanted to go to Quilt Market in Houston, but I just have not made it a Priority until this year.

Garry and I will be leaving on Friday, October 24, and heading to Houston.  We will be driving, so that we can make little stops along the way.  (we will be in the BUG, so we will be limited on what we can bring back . . . that may be a Good Thing? ! ? ! ?)

~  THANK GOODNESS FOR THE USPS!  ~

Our first stop will be in Dallas.  I have been wanting to go to United Notions for a long time, . . .  So, . . . we will be looking there first.  I do not even know what to expect, but I bet it is going to be FANTASTIC!  They carry MODA Fabrics, Notions, and Home Accessories.

I have several pieces of their Fabric in mind that I LOVE, but I am just going to be looking (?) on the way down.  I want to wait to purchase anything until I get to Market and see the latest things out. 

If I am allowed to take pictures, I will.  I will share them with you later.

I have got to keep myself under control, or I know I will spend my whole budget there before we even get to Market!  I will have Garry along to help me with that!

We are not going to go all of the way to Houston the first night, but we will get pretty close so that we can be there when the doors open Saturday Morning! 

We will check everything out for two days, then we will head back to Dallas on Monday, and make another Stop at United Notions (if I have any money left!).

I bet you can't tell that I am the least bit EXCITED ! ! !

~ BEAR QUILT by Sharon Filipowicz ~

~ I have just got to show you one more Customer Quilt!

 

~   I LOVE IT ! ! !   ~

It will be a Perfect Baby Gift!

This Quilt was pieced by Sharon Filipowicz of Amarillo TX.  This is the first Quilt that I have Quilted for Sharon. 

She had seen another Quilt that I had Quilted using the Tri Leaf Pattern, and requested that I use it on this Quilt.  I think it is the perfect pattern for this Quilt! 

 

I used a light yellow thread so that it would not take away from the Bear Print on the panel.

Sharon and Connie drove to Canadian from Amarillo this afternoon (a good two hour drive) to pick up their Quilts!

GOOD MORNING GIRLS!

I wanted to show you a BEAUTIFUL Flower Garden Quilt!

  This Quilt was pieced by Janie VanZandt. 

~  DON'T YOU JUST LOVE IT!  ~

Janie is the Quilt Teacher for several of the Area Communities in the Texas Panhandle.  I love getting to see her Beautiful Work! 

 

I have a tendency to do the same pattern over and over, however, Janie is always using New Patterns and Beautiful Fabrics.

 

This is the First Quilt that I have shown of Janie's, but it is not the first one I have Quilted for her.  

Janie was one of my first Customers, and has continued to use my Quilting Services for the past three or four years now!

Today you get to enjoy one of her Treasures!
