I received the following email from Dawn at www.dawnsdaybreak.blogspot.com. This is what she had to say !
Hi Donna,
This is what I am posting on my blog tomorrow for an update on my yo yo projects.
Donna of Donna's In the Attic is hosting a yo-yo challenge. It's taken me a while to get what little I have done completed. While ideally I would have liked to make a yo yo quilt I knew that wasn't in the cards. I found directions for making these angels while searching for something to do with my yo yo maker. I decided to use buttons and not ribbon. I thought they would make cute package decorations. The website that offers the instructions has an abundance of ways to package these little angels.
Before I made the angels I made some flowers. I love these flowers. Wouldn't they make a beautiful quilt? (I don't know why the colors look so washed out here!) I decided four flowers wouldn't exactly make a quilt so for now I am calling them coasters!!
I do love making the flowers. So much so that I bought this little purse at A.C. Moore for $1 and made a flower to put on it. I'll be giving this to my granddaughter. Maybe I'll put something in it for her. It's not quite finished but you get the idea!
Take care,
Dawn
~ Didn't Dawn do a fantastic job! I love all of her Projects! Thank you so much for letting me share them with my readers! I also wanted to share a couple of helpful comments that were made on two of my Posts on making yo-yo's ! Jeanette at www.scrapnchick-keepmeinstitches.blogspot.com gave these hints ! Comment: ~ ~ Jeanette is not to late and nether are you. The Yo-Yo Challenge is still going on! Anyone can join in. I am going to give it a while longer, and then I will have the drawing! HAVE A GREAT DAY ! ! ! ~ donna ~
I am a little late to the game (Just found your blog yesterday) and someone may have already told you this, but I thought I would tell you anyway, just in case. I have made a million and one of these stupid things and have learned some tips along the way... #1 The little lines on the back of the YYM insert line up with the little knobs on the cup. If you lift a tiny corner of the fabric and line up the line and knob the back will snap into place without having to adjust. #2 if you take an awl and put a whole through the plate where the center bump is, then when you have your yo yo fabric inside you can take a pencil and make a little mark where the center of your yo yo is. When you take the fabric out, gather and knot it, put a little tacking stitch on the pencil mark, it will keep your yo yos centered and even. I have been working on several projects for about a year now. One is a bolster pillow for my bed, another is a garland from halloween fabrics, and also a table topper from christmas fabrics. My sister is making a Californial King size quilt, by hand, no little cheater tools. (She's the one that got me started but I like using the YYM.) Anyway, I am sure I am probably too late for the challenge, but maybe this is the incentive I need to finish these projects up! Wish I had found your blog a month ago.
Love the yoyo angels! they are so cute!

I am in love with the angels. I've got to learn to make the yoyos- the possibilities with them seem endless.

I am still here Donna a few of lifes little incidents have been going on in recent weeks which have kept me very busy. But inbetween that I have been making my yo-yo's (during hospital visits, grandbaby sitting and house painting) with a plan in mind. Just have to find a day to put my plan into action. I just love what Dawn has done with her yo-yo's they are great. Mind you I won't be making a quilt either LOL.
Kind regards Roslyn

When I initially commented I clicked the "Notify me when new comments are added" checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get several e-mails with the same comment. Is there any way you can remove people from that service? Appreciate it!
