is coming right along.
We decided to work on the outside this week.
Garry cut the Crepe Myrtle Tree down a couple of weeks ago, . . .
but we still had the stump to deal with.
WELL, . . . here it is ~
I wish I would have taken a picture of the contraption we had set up to get that thing out of the ground!
AND IT WORKED ! ! !

The HUGE Cement Slab was the next Project ~
OH MY GOODNESS!
Well, I failed to get a picture of that too!
It was quite a Trick.
Garry dug out around the slab until he found the bottom of it (about 24" deep).
Then, he slipped a chain as far under the front edge of the block as he could get it.
He attached the chain to a hi-lift jack.
As he would crank it up, the jack would lean toward the slab so we could not get it to budge.
Well, to keep the jack from leaning toward the slab, he backed his pickup up next to the jack and tied it to the ball of the truck with the chain.
With each crank, he pickup would inch back and pull down.
FINALLY, . . . THE SLAB BUDGED ! ! !
We were then able to get it away from the house.
Garry started chipping the top of the slab with a Rock Bar and sure enough, it began to break apart.
THE SLAB IS GONE, . . . We could start Painting.

NOW THE NEXT PROBLEM, . . .
We were not real crazy about the green metal trim on the eaves of the house, but we thought we would try to coordinate a paint color with the green and see if we could make it work.
IT DIDN'T ~
The Avocado Green House was to much!
So, we had no choice but to paint the eaves.
We decided on Behr ~ Expresso Beans for the eaves and Mocha Latte for the walls.
This was the first day. Garry had scraped and caulked the stoop so we didn't have it painted in the above picture. We also needed to paint the shingles.
Well, here is how it looks today ~
We, or should I say Garry, still has to paint the little eave on top of the house. We are still trying to figure out how we can attach him to the roof ! ? ! ? !
We owned a little house at Allison Tx a few years ago. It had a metal roof. I wasn't there to see it, but Garry had gone on top of house to install an electrical conduit . He lost his footing, started sliding, and fell off the roof.
He said he just did a roll when he hit the ground hoping that nobody saw him, and if they did, he was hoping they would think that he had intended to do it.
I Still Laugh when I think about it!
Three sides of the house are done. We just like a small back porch and the south end.
Tomorrow, we are headed to get more supplies.
Have a Wonderful Weekend!
